Rodent Control - Transfer Stations

Transfer Stations provide an ideal home ground for a rat infestation. They provide warmth, shelter, and most of all a food supply. The usual rat to be found is the Common Brown Rat.

Given the facts that the gestation period of a pregnant female rat is 21 days, the average litter between eight to ten pups, a female rat can become pregnant immediately after giving birth. If there is a healthy amount of food source available for the rats to eat, then a female rat will produce up to 12 litters of 20 rats each a year. One rat's nest can turn into a rat colony of 50 rats in six months. One pair of rats has the potential of 15,000 descendants in a year. This can lead to a population of epic proportions!

Most Transfer Stations are within populated areas meaning that an out of control rat problem can easliy spread beyond the transfer station. Responsible Site Managers will be pro-active towards the control of rodent colonies.
